“A HISTORY OF TUCKER
1821 – 1942”
by Elias W. (Tim) Timmons
Mr. Timmons spent over ten years compiling historical research, personal interviews of Tucker residents and members of local churches and civic organizations, and piles of family photographs to complete a process that was in his words, “like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.”
This book is comprised of four parts of Tucker history; The Land, Pioneer Life, The Civil War, and Early Tucker Families, which includes the history and genealogy of 44 of Tucker’s earliest pioneers and most influential families.
The Tucker Historical Society is grateful to Mr. Timmons for his undying dedication to this important work, and hope that the people of Tucker will find the book enjoyable, informative and essential to their understanding of the formation of our town.
